Support the RED Act, help student borrowers!
Since 2008, the cost of attending college has risen by 28%. As a result, 43 million Americans are now struggling to make ends meet under a crushing total student debt load of $1.3 trillion.
We need concrete solutions to the student debt crisis right now.
Senators Baldwin (D-WI), Hirono (D-HI), and Warren (D-MA) recently introduced the Reducing Educational Debt (RED) Act, which will not only help student borrowers currently #InTheRed but help reduce burdensome student debt for future borrowers. Their bill would:
- Allow students to refinance federal and private student loans at a lower rate.
- Increase Federal funding to states who commit to free community college for all.
- Increase Pell Grant awards to students most in need.
Send a letter to your senators now asking them to support this important step to help student borrowers #InTheRed!
