Take Action for Black Bears in Washington!

At this December's Washington Fish and Wildlife Commission meeting, the Commission will be voting on an important law-changes to sport hunting of black bears. We need you to speak up for black bears before December 4th!

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) is proposing extending the season of Spring Black Bear Special Permit Hunts by a whole month, starting the hunt April 15th! Currently, the start of the Spring Bear Hunt is May- which is right in the middle of their mating season- and then extends through mid-June. This would double the Spring hunting season! Right now, there are now laws against killing mother bears who have cubs, they just discourage it.

Please take action TODAY to STOP the expansion of the sport hunting season of black bears.

We need you to submit your feedback on the proposed rule to show the WDFW how you feel about the season dates and permit numbers in some areas to guide how the WDFW offers spring black bear sport hunting in 2021. Please take action NOW!
