Red wolves are the most endangered wolf species in the world and they only currently live in the wilds of North Carolina. What was once a serious effort to bring this species back, has been reduced to nearly nothing by political pressures at the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.
There are just nine known red wolves in the wild today—worldwide. The USFWS has captive-bred wolves that it could, and should, release into packs into the wild to bring this recovery back on track.
Instead, it is fighting court orders and delaying investing resources into additional locations and more wild wolf releases.
At this rate, red wolves will never return to the wild and will only be found in zoos. That’s not what the Endangered Species Act calls for. Please send the USFWS an email today asking that they commit to recovering the most endangered wolves in the world.
