The North Carolina General Assembly is in the final critical days of budget negotiations. We must make sure they fully fund teacher assistants, hold firm on making a significant investment in textbooks and digital tools, and provide all educators a fair compensation package. The state ranks nearly dead last in per-pupil spending and in the bottom tier on average teacher pay.  North Carolina is better than this.
