Tell Alderman Waguespack you support 615 new homes in Lincoln Park!

615 homes (124 affordable) are proposed at 1840 N Marcey in Lincoln Park, steps away from numerous local amenities and the future Lincoln Yards development along the North Branch of the Chicago River.
Why we're excited about this project:
- Replaces an underutilized one-story industrial building
- One block from a grocery store (Trader Joe's), with Whole Foods nearby, too
- Short walk to numerous shopping destinations, further enabling car-free trips
- Walking distance to CTA Armitage Brown Line station, North/Clybourn Red Line station, the 73 Armitage bus line, AND the Clybourn Metra station
- 275 parking spots and 615 bike parking spots
- Numerous pedestrian improvements, including a new signal at Clybourn and Wisconsin
- Located in an exclusionary, high-resource neighborhood ($187,857 median household income)
The Ranch Triangle Community Conservation Association has come out strongly against the project, calling the large apartment building in the middle of the 3rd biggest city in the country "unprecedented". On Monday, Oct 16, there was a packed community meeting with strong turnout from both supporters and opponents of the project (a turnout win for us in and of itself!).
We are calling on Alderman Waguespack to support the project. Chicago's wealthiest residents should not be allowed to singlehandedly block the construction of desperately-needed housing units in their neighborhood. Let's show that you believe in welcoming new neighbors by sending a letter of support for the project.
