Tell Congress NOT to eliminate funds for class size reduction & teacher quality

President Trump proposed and now the House Appropriations Committee has voted to completely eliminate more than two billion dollars of Title IIA funds, which in many schools across the country are used to reduce class size, keep teachers on staff or to recruit and train teachers. This could lead to the loss of over 8,000 teaching positions nationwide, about 1,000 in NYC alone -- and cause sharp class size increases in many schools.   Since the great recession, class sizes are already at sky-high levels.  Send a letter today to urge the House and the Senate to oppose the elimination of these critical funds!
