Tell Congress: Push Back on Trump's Muslim Ban

Kahn

All Americans need to urge their elected members of Congress to push back against President Trump’s ‘Muslim Ban’ Executive Order, a disturbing confirmation of Islamophobic and un-American policy proposals made during the presidential election campaign.

All members of Congress need to oppose this executive order by making statements, writing “Dear Colleague” letters, and pushing the Administration, State Department, Department of Homeland Security and Department of Justice to oppose these discriminatory policies of which Muslims are the sole targets.

Here is a list of what Trump’s racist, xenophobic order does:

- Blocks the resettlement of Syrian refugees
- Suspends all refugee admissions for the next 120 days while it determines which counties pose a risk
- Suspends visas for citizens of certain counties where it is deemed security screening is insufficient - but only countries where Trump does not have businesses
- Cuts more than half the number of refugees admitted into the U.S. down to 50,000
- Imposes a religious and ideological litmus test on those coming to this nation
- Only gives religious minorities priority in refugee admissions - for example accepting Christian refugees from Syria but not Muslims
