Tell Congress to Take a Stand Against Arctic Drilling

Republicans are moving forward with their plans to allow oil exploration in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. This is bad news considering Republicans are now in control of Congress with a Republican President. The government thinks that there is approximately 12 billion barrels of crude in the arctic, which is why they are so eager to begin drilling in the area.

Two US senators, Lisa Murkowski and Dan Sullivan, have introduced legislation to start development on over 2,000 acres of this national wildlife refuge. The refuge is a critical habitat for many species including migratory birds, polar bears, marine mammals, wolves and caribou. It is important that the government does not drill oil from this environment. If there were to be an oil spill, thousands of animals would be directly affected by this. The implications it would have on our planet would be deadly and devastating.

Please send a message to your senator and representative asking them to stand up and protect the national wildlife refuge from drilling. We must act now; our planet does not have four years!
