Tell elected leaders to act now to Stop Salmon Extinction

Make your voice heard to stop salmon extinction today.

This week, Senator Patty Murray and Governor Jay Inslee released a draft report for their salmon recovery plan, indicating that the services the four Lower Snake River dams provide can be replaced—and with urgent action this year, we can prevent salmon extinction. They are now seeking public comment for the next 30 days while they finalize their decision on a solution.

These dams have been driving salmon towards extinction for decades, violating the rights of tribes and Indigneous people in the Northwest who were promised abundant salmon by the United States through treaties and other binding commitments. The loss of salmon is an injustice, and the removal of these dams is the only way to make it right.

Making a comprehensive plan to remove the lower Snake River dams and replace the clean energy services can restore salmon populations back to abundance while equitably meeting the region’s energy and agricultural needs.

This is a historic opportunity to lead the largest salmon recovery in history, while upholding the rights of tribes and boosting economies. We can do it by removing the four dams on the lower Snake River and replacing the services they provide.
