Tell Lawmakers: Expand Language Access This Session!

Nearly 1 in 10 Massachusetts residents are limited English proficient, but the pandemic has laid bare the Commonwealth’s inability to provide desperately needed information and services in languages other than English. We must ensure that all members of our community have equal access to public health information, education, unemployment assistance, healthcare, housing, and other crucial services.

An Act Relative to Language Access and Inclusion (Rep. Madaro, Rep. González, Sen. DiDomenico) would address this crisis by standardizing and enforcing language access policies and protocols at public-facing state agencies.

This legislation has recently been reported out favorably by the Joint Committee on State Administration and Regulatory Oversight! Now we need your help to advance this bill even further.

We’ve already started a message for you – click “Start Writing” above to add your own details and urge your legislators to contact leadership asking for their support in advancing An Act Relative to Language Access and Inclusion this session.

When we provide language access, our communities are healthier, safer, and stronger. Thank you for standing with us!
