Tell National Grid No Rate Hikes For More Fossil Fuels like the North BK Pipeline and LNG expansions

Right now, National Grid, the corporate utility covering part of NYC and Long Island wants to raise our rates, the highest in the nation, to expand more fossil fuels in an opaque process in a boardroom.

We must flood the system with public comments like they have never seen before.
This form will help you create a public comment directly to the Public Service Commission.

Start by entering your information and click "Start Writing" that will take you to the letter-writing-prompt with helpful tips i.e. You can begin by introducing yourself and where you live. Feel free to include a personal story about how high rates affect your life, about how climate change or pollution affects your life or the lives of loved ones, and/or why energy democracy is important to you.

Top-line points to mention in Public Comments:

  1. Don’t raise our rates.

  2. No new money for fracked gas infrastructure, especially Phase Four and Five of the Metropolitan Reliability Infrastructure (MRI) -- i.e. the North Brooklyn Pipeline leading to expansions of liquefied and compressed fracked gas terminals in residential neighborhoods.

  3. National Grid should be reducing gas use through energy efficiency, not expanding gas.

  4. Since National Grid is a public utility there needs to be more public input in this process.
