Tell NPS, USPP, and DC Government to stop the criminalization of homelessness

McPherson Square will be reopening soon after being closed since the eviction of the McPherson Square Encampment in February. Already, US Park Police are harassing unhoused community members at the park, threatening eviction and arrest. It is critical in working to both address the crisis of homelessness in the US and improve the lives of those experiencing it that DC Government, the National Parks Service, and the US Park Police stop the criminalization and exclusion of homeless people in public spaces and rather, focus their efforts on addressing the affordable housing crisis in DC and improving services that actually reduce and prevent homelessness.
