After more than 70% of the California State Senate recently voted in favor of Reparations-related bills SB-1403, SB-1331, and SB-1050, each of these historic bills is now in the State Assembly where the Assembly Appropriations Committee will consider them on Thursday, August 15th!

We're closer to California Reparations than we've ever been. YOU can help us reach the finish line and achieve Reparations and Reparative Justice by contacting Assembly Appropriations Committee members and telling them to SUPPORT SB-1403, SB-1331, and SB-1050!

SB-1403 creates a state agency to verify eligibility and implement Reparations.

SB-1331 creates a Reparations FUND in the state treasury to facilitate funding for Reparations.

SB-1050 provides restitution for property taken unjustly by the state of California.

These policies were recommended by California's first-the-nation Reparations Task Force and, together, not only do these bills lay the groundwork for full Reparations and repair, but they represent the first bills in California history specifically targeting residents who descend from people who were enslaved in the U.S.
