Tell the Planning Commission: Respect state law and approve new housing!

Fight for housing this week! Take action.

This Thursday, April 20, two major housing projects will be heard by the SF Planning Commission: 469 Stevenson and 3832 18th St. Do these addresses sound familiar? It's not just you—469 Stevenson made headlines and enraged voters when the Board of Supervisors chose to preserve a valet parking lot over transit-oriented affordable housing. And 3832 18th St was illegally modified by the Planning Commission last year, rendering the new project infeasible to build. The California Department of Housing and Community Development took the rare step of telling San Francisco to approve both projects in their original form, or face consequences from state law.

Now, the Planning Commission will have its chance to right those wrongs. Both projects are being heard again for approval. Take a minute to write a letter of support today!

And if possible, making your voice heard in public comment will amplify this message. Please give public comment at the hearing on Thursday, April 20, after 1 PM by calling phone number 415-655-0001, and using access code 2596 368 6683. You can find the meeting agenda here. 469 Stevenson and 3832 18th St are items 11 and 13 on the agenda respectively.
