Governor Ralph Northam has set forward an ambitious package of common-sense gun safety measures -- including bills that keep prohibited people away from firearms, create of a universal background check system, institute Extreme Risk Protection Orders (ERPOs), restore the longstanding "one handgun a month" law, and banning assault weapons.
