Senate Bill 7 filed by Sen. J. Schickel and others, would reduce the number of teacher members on SBDM councils to two, give the local school board final authority over council decisions, weaken council authority over hiring decisions, and transfer authority of the council to the superintendent if the school is identified for comprehensive support and improvement. JCTA and KEA OPPOSE this bill.
