Tell your member of Congress to sign on to the Willow letter

Congressional climate hawk Rep. Raul Grijalva has introduced a letter to pause the Willow Arctic oil project, and suspend key development permits before the Department of the Interior can implement them.

Pausing these permits will not only prevent immediate damage to the sensitive ecosystem, it will give the Biden Administration months to gather further input, and come to their senses over this climate killing carbon bomb.

Let's build an unstoppable wave of political power in the US Congress, and reverse the decision before it's too late.

If built, the Willow project will emit 280 million metric tons of carbon during its lifespan, the equivalent of two million new gasoline-powered cars per year for the next thirty years. Willow is an appalling betrayal by a President who campaigned on ending oil and gas projects on federal land. And while we know Biden's decision was more about politics than climate science, he's getting both wrongStrong majorities of Democratic, Independent, and even Republican voters want Biden to keep his promises on climate change.

Fortunately, there's still time to reverse the disastrous decision — more so if climate hawks in Congress squawk up now and ask for a pause. Ask your member to stand with millions of Americans and all life on earth by signing on to the Congressional Willow letter with Rep Grijalva.
