Tell your members of Congress: Reinstate CHIP NOW!

If attempting to repeal the Affordable Care Act again and again wasn’t enough, Republicans in Congress have now let health insurance for 9 million American children expire.

On October 1, the Children’s Health Insurance Program expired, due to inaction from the House and Senate. CHIP provides matching funds to states to provide low-cost health coverage for children whose families do not qualify for Medicaid.

If Congress doesn’t act to reinstate CHIP, 10 states will run out of funding by the end of 2017. 22 more will run out of CHIP funding within 6 months.

This is a major crisis. Reinstating CHIP is simply non-negotiable — and Congress must do it immediately. Before passing a budget. Before passing any tax cuts for the wealthy.

Write an urgent letter to your members of Congress now and urge them to pass a CLEAN bill to reinstate CHIP. Immediately.
