Tell Your Representatives - Workers Need $15

On November 10th, workers across New York State are joining a global day of action to demand fair wages and dignity at work. Gov. Cuomo has recently announced his support for a $15 per hour minimum wage for all workers in New York.

Millions of New York workers don’t make enough to support themselves. About 3 million New Yorkers make less than $15/hour. But according to the Department of Labor, the cost of living in New York State requires a single adult working full-time to make at least 15.91/hour. These workers are going without necessities, relying on public assistance or family and friends, and/or going into debt.

This is not simply an economic issue, it is a moral one. No one should work to support themselves and their family and remain mired in poverty. Tell your legislator that you support a $15 minimum wage, for all workers.
