Tell your reps: Solidarity is not a Crime!

This session, the Virginia General Assembly is considering a suite of bills that contain Islamophobic, anti-Arab, and anti-Palestinian attacks on the movement for Palestinian Liberation across the Commonwealth, particularly targeting student organizing at public universities.

These bills include:

HB 1650 - Expands the power of the Commonwealth's Attorney General to investigate any individual or organization under "reasonable suspicion" of abetting "terrorism."

HB 2529 - Prohibits public universities from divesting from any country not already sanctioned by the federal government.

HB 2207 + SB 1284 - Weaponizes "antiterrorism" suppression tactics against public universities.

HB 2186 + SB 1247 - Public universities can't partner with institutions in "countries of concern", which are incredibly broadly defined as any country not allied with the U.S.

Use this tool to call on your legislators to oppose attempts to silence the Palestinian solidarity movement and threaten freedom of expression on campus and across the commonwealth.
