Tell Your Members of Congress to co-sponsor the Burma Bill

Tell your U.S. Senators and Congressperson to co-sponsor the new Burma Bill.

The Myanmar military seized power on February 1, 2021. Since then, the army has been merciless in throwing elected representatives and human rights activists in jail. The military has murdered more than 850 protesters and injured thousands more.

Since the coup, people across Myanmar have taken to the streets to resist the military's coup d'etat. This new #CivilDisobedienceMovement has awoken something in the young people of that nation that cannot be quelled or stopped by violence from the Myanmar military. They demand the international community impose strong sanctions on the military. This includes its business conglomerates Myanmar Economic Holding Limited (MEHL) and Myanmar Economic Corporation (MEC).

Congress must act. We are past the time when the U.S. Congress needs to act. Some Members of Congress, led by Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD) and Congressman Gregory Meeks (D-NY), have been working on a bill to place sanctions on the military of Myanmar and do other things to help the Burmese people. Where is it?

While the U.S. Congress dithers and delays, people are being brutally killed in Myanmar. The time has come to act.

Please add your name and address to send an email directly to your Senators and Representative, demanding that they support and co-sponsor the new Burma bill.
