Tell your state legislators: Close Corporate Tax Loopholes

Our elected officials have one job: invest in the people of Illinois and strengthen our communities. But Springfield has abandoned us. They say the best we can hope for is a Grand Bargain, where we pay more sales tax and higher income tax while they cut payments for schools, higher education, and the social safety net. That Grand Bargain is a Raw Deal for  families, the elderly, and people with disabilities.

Many profitable businesses-- 2/3 of corporations-- pay no tax at all to Illinois. Others get discounts on their taxes. Why? Because state law gives them special breaks--loopholes-- to lower their tax bills.  That's not right. HB 4004 would change that by closing some of those loopholes.

Our People and Planet First Budget would change the state's priorities.
