Tell your Supervisor to APPROVE short-term rental regulations to protect housing in LA County!

With the rise in popularity of short-term rental accommodations, cities and counties across the country are faced with the challenge of how to regulate. Short-term rentals take housing units off the long-term market, increasing the cost of rent for the rest of us. In a County that is already experiencing a major housing and homelessness crisis, we can not afford to be losing more units to greedy landlords and investors seeking profit.
The LA County Board of Supervisors is expected to hear regulations on short-term rentals in unincorporated parts of the County some time this Winter. These regulations will limit the amount of short-term rentals any one person can have, and ensure that the primary function of housing units is to serve as homes. You can write a letter to your Supervisor here, requesting that they vote to pass these short-term rental regulations, or call them at one of the numbers below! Better Neighbors LA is a coalition of Southern California hosts, tenants, housing activists, hotel workers, and community members. We believe the best way to support true sharing for hosts and guests is also the best way to protect jobs and the community: by curbing illegal commercial activity in the short-term rental industry.
