Workers who organize a union are fighting for better pay, safer workplaces, and a real voice on the job, but too often employers drag out first contract negotiations to stall progress and wear people down. The bipartisan Faster Labor Contracts Act (H.R. 5408) would help fix this by setting clearer expectations and timelines for reaching a first contract so employers cannot endlessly delay bargaining. After being stalled in committee and reaching the 218 signature threshold for a discharge petition, this measure is now headed for a vote in the House of Representatives.
