Tell your Democratic Virginia Legislators: I want a clean energy future
With the exciting Virginia election results opening opportunities for clean energy, we’re asking our legislators to hold firm on the targets set in our clean energy law, the Virginia Clean Economy Act (VCEA).
Unfortunately, citing increased energy demand from data centers, Dominion Energy, along with the data center and gas industries, are pressuring lawmakers to abandon the VCEA. In fact, Dominion wants to build 6 new gas-fueled power generation plants! The data center industry, which includes some of the wealthiest corporations in the world, can afford to “do right” by meeting its demand through solar, wind, battery storage, and energy efficiency. Future need can be met with clean energy, quickly and affordably! This SELC-commissioned report shows how.
Please send a constituent letter TODAY asking your legislators to preserve and strengthen our landmark climate & clean energy law. Remind them that the VCEA creates clean energy jobs, protects public health, and saves us all money.
Note - this action is only targeting Democratic representatives. If you have a Republican representative, please feel free to send your own message in your own words. Check who represents you here.
