Urge Virginia Commonwealth University to End Painful Experiments on Ferrets

Virginia Commonwealth University is forcibly subjecting twenty ferrets to inhale aerosol and liquid substances through their noses in order to create "lung injuries."

Each ferret’s lungs are flooded with saline solution to induce respiratory damage. In some cases the researchers believe this might not cause enough damage to the ferrets’ lungs and write: “If we are unable to induce sufficient lung injury” with the saline, “we will consider other methods,” including hydrochloric acid and fecal matter.

In the end, the ferrets will all be killed and their lungs cut out and examined.

This suffering must end. Tell Virginia Commonwealth University to stop these cruel experiments.
