Urge your Rep to attend the TPNW meeting
The third meeting of states parties to the Treaty is convening in New York from March 3rd-7th. On the Monday of this meeting there will be a meeting for Parliamentarians in support of the TPNW from countries who have not yet signed on.
These parliamentarians from countries which are not parties to the TPNW will meet to discuss building support for their countries eventual joining of the treaty, and to extend support and solidarity in the uphill struggle they face within their countries to eliminate nuclear weapons.
At the last meeting in 2023, Representative Jim McGovern became the first representative from the United States to attend this parliamentary meeting and observe the TPNW meeting.
It cannot be stressed enough how much it means to legislators from these other countries to know that there is any support at all for this treaty within the US Congress. And it is crucial to push our representatives here to attend this meeting to catalyze them of the importance of eliminating nuclear weapons.
