March 11th is the 3rd anniversary of WHO’s pandemic declaration. It is also the date that Congress will vote on whether or not to vaccinate the world and fund a global pandemic prevention fund.

In September, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris hosted a White House Global COVID Summit, where they pledged to lead a global drive to reach 70% vaccinations worldwide by Sept. 2022, and also committed $1.1 billion in seed funding for a multilateral pandemic prevention fund.

The Biden Administration has already made important commitments. Now, Congress must step up and provide the funds needed to deliver on these promises, and hold the President accountable. This has to be done by March 11th!

The belated request by the White House last week for only $5 billion for global vaccines was a start, but deeply insufficient. We are calling on Congress to take ACTION. The supplemental budget must include $17 billion as a U.S. contribution towards global vaccinations. It should also include $850 million for a global pandemic fund, fulfilling Vice President Harris’s strategic pledge of $1.1 billion
