STOP Dismissal case against Ashley Hull

To the Pittsburg Unified School District Board of Education,

Dear Members of the Board,

I am writing to respectfully urge the Board of Education to reconsider an NOT move forward with the dismissal of Ms. Ashley Hull and to carefully weigh the significant contributions she has made to students, colleagues, and the Highlands Elementary School community throughout her career.

Mrs. Hull exemplifies the qualities of an outstanding educator. Throughout her ten years in the teaching profession, including eight years serving students at Highlands Elementary School, she has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to student learning, growth, and well-being. Her classroom is known as a welcoming, engaging, and supportive environment where students are encouraged to participate, take risks, and develop confidence in their abilities.

One of Ms. Hull's greatest strengths is her ability to build meaningful relationships with students. She possesses a unique talent for recognizing the individual needs of children and responding with compassion, patience, and professionalism. Her attentiveness to students extends beyond academics, allowing her to identify concerns, provide support, and connect families with resources when appropriate. These qualities reflect the type of educator who sees and values the whole child.

Mrs. Hull has repeatedly demonstrated a willingness to go above and beyond in service of students. Her actions consistently reflect a student-centered approach, ensuring that children feel safe, supported, and capable of success. She is the kind of educator who creates positive and lasting impacts on the lives of young people through her daily interactions, encouragement, and unwavering dedication.

Beyond her classroom responsibilities, Mrs. Hull contributes to the broader community through volunteer service as a mentor supporting employment and educational opportunities for teenagers in foster care. This commitment illustrates her belief that every young person deserves encouragement, opportunity, and a caring adult advocate.

As a mother, community member, lifelong Contra Costa County resident, artist, and outdoor enthusiast, Mrs. Hull brings a well-rounded perspective and genuine passion for education to her work. Her professionalism, kindness, and commitment to students have earned the respect and appreciation of many within the school community.

Educators who combine instructional excellence with empathy, dedication, and a sincere commitment to student success are invaluable assets to any school district. Mrs. Hull's record of service reflects these qualities and demonstrates the positive impact she continues to have on the students and families she serves.

For these reasons, I respectfully ask the Board to not move forward with dismissal.

Respectfully,
