Write your City Council candidates to tell them to demand property tax justice, stop foreclosures, right past wrongs, and keep Detroiters in their homes!

The Coalition for Property Tax Justice diligently reached out through email, Facebook, Twitter, and phone to each City Council candidate on the November ballot.

The report card reflects whether each candidate, in writing, committed to:

1. Demand that the City of Detroit stop illegally inflating property tax assessments.

2. Support a tax foreclosure moratorium on owner-occupied homes in 2022 due to the continued over assessments.

3. Help create an ordinance to compensate Detroiters for the City’s illegally inflated property taxes.
