Write Your Legislators to Support Increasing Financial Aid Funding!

Please use our letter campaign to urge your Massachusetts legislators to support more financial aid funding! After convincing the Massachusetts Senate to approve a $20 million increase in financial aid funding for the next school year, the measure now has a chance of being added into next year's budget! But we need as much support as possible from passionate citizens like you to get this through!

The UMass administration has announced that tuition must increase to keep up with inflation, despite not increasing financial aid investment to keep funding level.

Since the state has not committed to increasing financial aid, while the federal government is making massive funding cuts, this is making our public colleges more expensive for all public college students!

The excuse of inflation does not make sense: if tuition increased based on inflation alone for the last 40 years, it would only be around $5,000 rather than today’s $17,000.

162,930 students across Massachusetts attended public institutions in 2024 and many of them depend on the financial assistance provided by the MASSGrant and MASSGrant Plus programs.

In order to ensure bright students across the Commonwealth can continue to afford our public colleges without taking on excessive debt or working multiple jobs, please urge your legislators to support increasing financial aid funding!
