"description": "Every year, thousands of workers in Washington state suffer preventable injuries on the job due to repetitive motions. Late Monday night, Feb. 14, our state took a big step toward preventing these injuries when the state House of Representatives approved HB 1837. Movements people do every day at work like lifting, bending, twisting, and reaching can lead to injuries like strained ligaments, sprains, and carpal tunnel syndrome. Changes as simple as providing the proper tools can protect workers' safety and keep people on the job. But since 2003, our state has been prevented from adopting common-sense rules to make sure our jobs are safe. HB 1837 will remove that ban, and on Feb. 14, after Republicans mounted a more than 9-hour filibuster to try to block the bill from a vote, the House passed it. Will you take 2 minutes to send a "thank you" to your House members who stood with Washington workers? *** IMPORTANT! -- If you enter your address and get the message, “Sorry no recipients were found," that means none of your Representatives voted "yes" on HB 1837. So skip this action and send your Senator a message urging their support of the bill.",
