"description": "Every year, thousands of workers in Washington state suffer preventable injuries on the job due to repetitive motions. Late Monday night, Feb. 14, our state took a big step toward preventing these injuries when the state House of Representatives approved HB 1837. But to do so, Representatives had to overcome a more than 9-hour filibuster attempting to block the bill. Now HB 1837 is in the state Senate, and we need to urge our Senators to stand with workers. Will you take 2 minutes to urge your Senator to push for a vote on this bill and to vote YES? Movements people do every day at work like lifting, bending, twisting, and reaching can lead to injuries like strained ligaments, sprains, and carpal tunnel syndrome. Changes as simple as providing the proper tools can protect workers' safety and keep people on the job. But since 2003, our state has been prevented from adopting common-sense rules to make sure our jobs are safe. HB 1837 will remove that ban. It has passed the House, but now the Senate must take action!",
