Meet Colorado Common Cause’s 2023 Champions for Democracy: Representative Jennifer Parenti will be honored for her work to pass first-of-their-kind campaign contribution limits for municipal elections. Rep. Parenti also ran a bill to give Colorado’s independent ethics commission jurisdiction over local officials and public employees, and is actively working in her district to advocate for fair representation in the Weld County Board of Commissioners. Caitlin Schneider &amp; the Colorado Fiscal Institute will be honored for their work leading Count Me In!, a nonpartisan initiative to make ballot measure language accessible for voters. The Count Me In! initiative convenes organizations across the state to coordinate voter education efforts that make the ballot more digestible and help inform voters about the decisions they play an important role in at the ballot.
