"description": "In light of the recent Department of Justice Report confirming Trenton Police as showing patterns of racist and discriminatory behavior and practice, Trenton City Council has called Mayor Gusciora to speak at their meeting and respond to his consistent support of this white supremacist, violent institution. Council is also providing at least 45 minutes of public comment, for residents, community organizations, and others to respond. Come join us at this city council meeting, 5:30pm on Thursday 12/3, and tell both the Mayor and City Council that Trenton needs REAL public safety for a change, and NOT even more funding for "training" to a racist police force so they can pad their budget further, while not making anyone any safer. NOTE: The 45 min public comment section is towards the end of the City Council Meeting. We suspect that the Mayor will not speak any earlier than 6:30pm, and the public comment section is right after that. But, things may run later than that depending on how much time Council takes reading ordinances (see the agenda using the link below). See you on Thursday evening! - The Greater Trenton DSA Organizing Committee MORE INFORMATION: Address: 319 E State Street, 2nd Floor Trenton, NJ 08608 LINKS: City Council Meeting Agenda CY 2024 Trenton City Budget What do we need to expand funding for, that would ACTUALLY make us all safer, based on the latest and greatest social-science research?
