"description": "Join Refuse Fascism - Stop Anti-Asian Hate Sunday, March 21, 1 PM AAPI Rally Against Hate 2021 Columbus Park (Manhattan) in Chinatown, Worth at Mulberrry St. Hosted by AAPI Rally Against Hate 2021, The Fung Bros. and 3 others Look for the banner and signs, “In the Name of Humanity, We Refuse to Accept a Fascist America!” Over roughly one year of the pandemic, almost 3,800 anti-Asian hate incidents have been reported, including people killed.  Now, six Asian American women have been murdered at spas in Atlanta area plus two other people.  These murders bring together the virulent white supremacist xenophobia and misogyny that was unleashed by the Trump/Pence regime.  The blood is on Trump’s hands.  White supremacy has been part of the United States since it’s founding.  Donald Trump gave it a platform in the White House.  In a cause for celebration, Trump was removed from power after an almost successful violent coup attempt to overturn the election on January 6.  But the fascist movement that brought him to power has not gone away.  And the danger remains of violence against immigrants, women, LGBTQ people, people of color, and anyone that opposes this fascist movement. From the time Trump descended the elevator to announce his candidacy for president, racism and white supremacy against immigrants have been a hallmark of Trump’s fascist program. Mexicans were called rapists and drug smugglers.  Families were torn apart at the border.  Children were put in concentration camps and cages. People fleeing for their lives from starvation and violence with the right to apply for asylum were instead deported.  This hatred was unleashed to new levels. Biden came into office claiming a more humane treatment of immigrants at the border.  His tone is very different than the open fascist white supremacy and racism of the Trump years.  But Biden recently told immigrants trying to survive, fleeing for their lives, desperate for asylum, “Don’t come.” Reportedly, 4,200 children are in detention. We do not accept treating people like criminals because they are fleeing for their lives to escape starvation and violence only to be locked up in concentration camps. Putting children in concentration camps is an outrage and it’s not the kind of world in which we want to live. Stop Violence Against Asians! No Detentions and Deportations of Refuges and Asylum Seekers! Refuse Misogyny! Refuse Racism! Refuse Fascism! In the Name of Humanity, We Refuse to Accept a Fascist America!
