"description": "The government is consulting on whether to ban or curb social media use for under 16s. The current debate is focused on a false binary: ban young people from social media or accept social media platforms as dangerous spaces run by a handful of profit hungry billionaires. But what if thought outside of the tech bros' vision? What if we built something better? We’re bringing young people aged 18-30 together at a collaborative in person event in London on the evening of 30th April to discuss our collective views on how social media is impacting us and what change we want to see. We’ll create a public resource that brings together real experiences and alternatives to social media bans or platforms that are run by a handful of billionaires. This will be shared publicly and with the government as part of the national consultation. If you are aged 18-30 and would like to feed into this discussion, sign up to join our event!",
