	"description": "The California Air Resources Board (CARB) is voting on proposed regulations for Cap and Invest (formerly Cap and Trade) on May 28th that would take funding for transit, affordable housing, clean air, and drinking water and use it to subsidize large polluting industries like oil and gas, violating the spirit of the program. The proposal is estimated to get rid of $600 million a year in transit funding for major infrastructure projects, new service, clean buses, and lower fares for seniors and students. It would defund $800 million a year for the Affordable Housing Sustainable Communities program, one of the largest sources of funding to build affordable housing in CA. We need to tell CARB to REJECT the proposed &quot;regulations&quot; and instead maintain the cap and invest in GHG reducing programs like affordable housing near transit (not giveaways to profit-driven, dirty industries).
