As veterans, we swore an oath to defend the Constitution and the people of this nation. Today, our communities are under attack by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), an agency whose practices of raids, detention, and family separation betray the very values we served to protect. We believe that no one is free until everyone is free. The militarization of immigration enforcement directly impacts the neighborhoods we call home, sowing fear and tearing apart the social fabric we risked our lives to safeguard. This is not a passive discussion group. This is a strategy and action planning meeting for veterans across the Chicago metro area who are ready to move from concern to concrete campaign. At this meeting, we will: Share critical information on ICE’s current operations and impact in the Chicago area. Identify key pressure points and campaign targets ( local policymakers, corporations profiting from detention, specific ICE facilities). Plan direct, veteran-led actions that utilize our unique voice, credibility, and discipline. Build our network and assign clear next steps to launch a sustained campaign. Who Should Attend: Military veterans from all eras, branches, and backgrounds. Your service experience is your credential. Allies and family members are welcome to attend.
