"description": "Comrades! We are excited to announce the planned formation of an affinity group within DSA for people over 50. The impetus for the group is both political and social. Our political aims include: · Challenging the manufactured stereotype of DSA as a group of crazy kids by bringing our gray-haired presence to DSA events, · Reaching out to people over 50 around DSA priority campaigns and highlighting their relevance to our peers; · Building collaborative relationships with over 50 community groups, and · Contributing the lessons of our shared political experience to discussions within DSA. Socially, we hope to overcome the isolation that older members may feel at DSA events and create a welcoming environment for others who share DSA politics but have not been sure it's the group for them. If you fit the demographic and are interested please attend this meeting and connect with us!",
