On January 19, 2025, Sane Energy formally requested an in-person public hearing with the Public Service Commission (PSC) and its staff at DPS regarding National Grid&#x27;s long-term gas system plans. Instead of engaging with the community directly, they responded on March 21, 2025, with a virtual-only option—a move that feels like a box-checking exercise rather than real engagement. We refuse to let them hide behind a screen. That’s why we’re creating our own in-person public event—where we will stream their WebEx on a big screen, amplify the discussion, and provide a podium for speakers to show the collective power of our community. This hearing will directly impact the PSC’s decision on whether to sink more money into stranded gas assets or listen to the community’s demand to shut down the Greenpoint LNG facility and remediate the land for community use. This facility is barely used, wasteful, and poses a serious health risk to the neighborhood. ? Location TBD—We’re working on a North Brooklyn location– stay tuned for updates!
