"description": "Join us on Monday, December 18th to tell the NJ Legislature: YES 100% TRULY Clean Energy by 2035! NO Unaffordable Dirty RNG Gas! We’re in a climate emergency, and right now two bills are under consideration in the NJ legislature that could make or break NJ’s transition to clean energy. One of these bills, the Clean Energy Standard (S2978/A4658), could move NJ onto 100% truly clean energy by 2035, if the right amendments are made to strengthen protections for clean air and environmental justice. But the Unaffordable Dirty Gas bill (A577/S1366) would give away billions in subsidies to the fossil fuel industry for dirty & expensive “renewable” natural gas, and it must be stopped. You can read more about both bills here. On Monday, December 18th, clean energy advocates are anticipating committee hearings and votes on at least one if not both bills, which is why we're going to be there in force – and we need you to be there too! Join us in Trenton on Monday, December 18th for an ALL HANDS ON DECK rally to support a STRONG Clean Energy Standard, and to oppose expensive new subsidies for dirty RNG gas! Right-wing groups in opposition to offshore wind and clean energy are also planning to rally at the Statehouse on the 18th to try to intimidate legislators with their opposition. We need to be louder and stronger, and we need your support to make a stand at the statehouse for clean energy, clean air, and climate action now! Let’s show lawmakers what we all know is true: the time for committing to 100% Real Clean Energy for New Jersey is now. Please bring signs, water, lots of friends and be prepared for December weather with warm layers. We will be at the steps rain or shine. The official rally program will begin promptly at 9 AM, thus please arrive at 8:45 AM when we will start gathering. There is limited street and statehouse garage parking available as this is an important committee day, therefore arrive early to ensure a spot. The legislative schedule for Monday has not yet been released, but when it is, we'll post updates here.",
