	"description": "In the past week, two more lives have been lost at the hands of ICE: Lorenzo Salgado Araujo and Johan Sebastian Guerrero. We mourn for these lives cut short. ICE has repeatedly proven themselves to be an untrustworthy partner, so why have 6 Lancaster County Law Enforcement Agencies signed agreements with them? Following the violence caused by ICE in Minneapolis, DHS has shifted their tactics. The new cornerstone of this approach is agreements with local police under a program called 287(g). We’ve seen the data. We know activity is ramping up in Lancaster County. So far in 2026 the number of immigration arrests are on track to increase 6x from 2024. More than a third of these arrests have been made by local police under 287(g). This is a moral call. Join faith leaders and concerned community members on the Lancaster County Courthouse steps July 25th at 11am. We will observe a moment of silence for those affected by ICE’s brutality and call for an end to Police-ICE collaboration in Lancaster County.",
