	"description": "The Fair Budget Coalition is hosting our inaugural FBC Community Budget Forum this fall! Join us in community on Saturday, September 14th, from 1-4 pm to enjoy refreshments, share knowledge, and begin to co-create the fiscal year 2026 budget that DC deserves. Why we&#x27;re hosting a budget forum: Every spring the Mayor holds entirely performative budget forums only weeks before releasing her already near-finalized budget. She invites the community to speak but does not really hear them. Folks who share their experiences see no reflection of their testimony in the budget Mayor Bowser releases. Often, we see that she slashed the programs our communities need to survive. Mayor Bowser won’t listen to community, but Fair Budget Coalition will. Throughout the fall, FBC will be putting together our budget priorities for fiscal year 2026, we want our priorities to represent the needs of the most impacted DC communities, and this forum will kickstart that process.
