"description": "Rapid change of events in the world and many crises, including the environmental emergency, means that our education system needs to respond and be transformed, to help us move towards more sustainable ways of living and working. Speakers this month include: Beki Aldam Green Councillor for Brimscombe and Thrupp, in Stroud, who develops and manages a programme of qualifications called Integrative Education. In her presentation she will describe how Integrative Education strengthens connections among subjects, between subjects and the outside world, between subjects and students’ lived experience. Ben Jackson Ben leads Forest School learning and is a TA at two secondary schools in Gloucestershire and South Gloucestershire. He will discuss his experiences of outdoor learning provision in the mainstream secondary education system, as well as the issues schools are facing in embracing sustainable practices as part of everyday routines. Following the presentations there will be time for audience questions and discussion – we welcome everyone and the session is free. Can’t make it on the night? Register anyway and you will be sent the recording",
