"description": "We invite you to join us at our 'Heatsafe Frankston' event at Frankston Library on the 29th of February to talk about all things heat resilience! We have watched record-breaking temperatures, bushfires, heatwaves and unprecedented storms and flooding in Australia during our 2023-2024 summer so far. And it isn't going to get any cooler in the coming decades. In many countries around the world, and places across Australia - towns and cities are questioning how they are going to stay cool as it gets hotter. The solutions are big and small, but each is tailoring a solution that suits them. This event will bring together key speakers talking about the community impacts of extreme heat and what it means for Frankston. Come along to connect with others working to make Frankston a heat safe city. We are excited to kick start this conversation. Come along, listen to speakers and bring your 1 burning question for the Q&A. Now is the time for people living in the Frankston Council area and surrounds to identify and advocate for their needs. What are the impacts caused by extreme heat now and what will the impacts be in the future, on day-to-day living? Our past and present community have done so much to provide the amazing facilities and biodiversity of our beautiful city. This event is all about hearing from community members and asking the question: what is needed to ensure we can continue to enjoy our lifestyle and build a "heat-safe" community? Time: Doors open at 6:15pm for a 6.30pm start. Panel and Q&A concludes at 8:00pm with light refreshments and mingling until 8.30pm. This event is being led by Alison Cooke, Frankston local and supported by Sweltering Cities.",
