	"description": "This intensive one day introductory course in Community Organising for Community Leaders will give you the tools to make change as part of your school, college, university, charity, faith group or community group. Topics covered include: leadership, negotiation, power, storytelling, building public relationships, listening and action! Attendees MUST attend the entire day of training. Who is this training meant for? This leadership development training is primarily designed for people who: have spoken in person with a local organiser about attending this training (essential) are part of a Citizens UK member institution and have been identified to help create a local plan, with the permission of an institutional leader. have been involved in a local meeting/action or been to a Citizens assembly What have recent trainees gone on to do? Recent trainees have used this training to win justice both locally and nationally, including: making misogyny recognised as a hate crime by certain local police forces, including Nottingham the Living Wage campaign, getting pay rises for over 374,000 workers, totalling over £2.6 BILLION of pay rises. enshrining the right to Free School Meals for eligible children, regardless of their parents migration status (championed by King&#x27;s College London) ... and many more social justice wins. Accessibility We are committed to making this training as accessible to as many people as possible. If you have any specific requirements for the venue, teaching, or any other aspect of the training, please speak to your organiser ASAP and we will do our best to facilitate. FAQs How much do I need to pay? This training is absolutely FREE to anyone who is part of a TELCO member institution and has been referred for training by your local organiser. If you are unsure about whether this applies to you, please get in touch with your organiser or email telco@citizensuk.org Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? No, but signing up on Action Network is compulsory, as spaces are limited and we need to plan in advance. Will food be provided? We will provide lunch, including vegetarian options. If you have more specific dietary requirements or any allergies, please contact afsana.salik@citizensuk.org. Can I attend just half the day, or miss a morning/afternoon session? Attendees must agree to attend the entirety of the training. If there are any issues, please contact your local organiser. Will there be childcare?
