	"description": "Join us at our monthly Green Gathering on Monday 12th January at 7:30pm! Maryam Din (they/she) is a Green Party member and queer non-binary Muslim woman. They are passionate about equity, equality, diversity and inclusion, and have extensive experience in delivering this for organisations and communities. They are a director of TransActual, a trans-led organisation working for trans people in the UK, and a Trustee of the Inclusive Mosque Initiative, an intersectional feminist mosque creating safer spaces for marginalised Muslims. To help Green Party members and supporters identify structural biases in society, Maryam will be running their workshop &#x27;What Is Racism and How Can I Be an Ally?&#x27; This introductory session is designed to provide a clear and accessible foundation for understanding racism and allyship. Through guided learning and practical tools, participants will be introduced to core concepts and begin developing the skills needed to recognise and address racism in everyday life. If you have not attended training like this before, attendees should be reassured that this will be a safe, open, non-judgemental learning space. Nobody will be expected to be perfect, as everybody is learning. This event is in-person only. A workshop for those who can only attend online over Zoom will be run at a later date.
