"description": "Jewish women belong in public leadership! Why not you? This unique and powerful webinar is designed to help make that path feel more real, practical and possible. Join us for a candid 75-minute conversation about how to step into political leadership, whether by running for office, working on campaigns, or serving in public-office staffing roles. We’ll talk about why Jewish women should consider stepping forward, what it actually takes to run, how campaigns begin, what personal and family considerations come into play and where to find training, mentorship, and support. Featuring Dr. Dana Brown, Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Center for Women & Politics at Chatham University; the Honorable Jill Beck, Judge of the Pennsylvania Superior Court; State Senator Judy Schwank; State Representative Abigail Salisbury; and Lynette Lederman, former Communications Coordinator for the Office of Mayor Corey O’Connor. This program is being moderated by JFASD's National Director Katie Reiter, who previously worked on political campaigns and served as chief of staff to a state senator. While our panel brings particular expertise in Pennsylvania politics, it is open and will be valuable to anyone across the country ready to think more seriously about how they can move from caring about public issues to helping shape public decisions. Together, our panelists will help demystify the path to public leadership and make it feel more accessible, understandable and achievable. Are you ready to step into leadership? This training is part of the Jewish Women and Religious Freedom in Pittsburgh Project, sponsored by the Jewish Women’s Foundation of Greater Pittsburgh, underwritten, in part, by Trustee Nancy Weissman, in memory of her beloved mother-in-law, Trustee Jackie Wechsler. Co-sponsors include: Community Relations Council, Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh; Congregation Beth Adam; Tucson Jewish Museum & Holocaust Center; Temple Israel of Greater Orlando; Florida NOW; with additional cosponsors joining.",
