"description": "Join us at our monthly Green Gathering on Monday 8th June at 7:30pm! The event is being recorded. By attending you consent to possibly being included in photography, video and /or audio recording which may be published publicly. If you do not want to be recorded, please make yourself known to the organisers. The Green Party is largely unique among parties in England and Wales in that its members, not leaders, determine party policy. Spokespeople and elected representatives, including leaders and MPs, are expected to promote our policy and make it clear when they disagree with it. Conference reigns supreme - motions passed by ordinary party members chart the course and focus of the party and no other body may override them. Leading up to Autumn Conference 2026 in Brighton, what issues would you like the Green Party to cover? Is the issue already party policy, and if not, how would you go about bringing it to Conference so it gets adopted? Animah Kosai is the membership officer of Global Majority Greens, EDI officer for Broxtowe Greens, and co-leads the Greens for Palestine divestment group. She was formerly a lawyer in Malaysia, who chaired the Kuala Lumpur Environmental Law Committee in 2001/2. She now lives in Nottingham and challenges modern day colonialism. Animah proposed a motion for the divestment group in Autumn 2025, and has co-drafted other motions - relating to Sudan, Palestine, and racism. Sarissa Guo (she/they) is member and treasurer to Broxtowe Greens, a trade unionist, and the latest addition to the Green Party’s Policy Development Committee. She contracted for the UNHCR in Malaysia before moving to Nottingham in 2022, where she's been based since. At our June Green Gathering, Nottingham Green Party Chair Lily Hallow speaks to Animah and Sarissa to understand how to navigate the process, based on their experiences and expertise. All welcome, members and non-members alike! We're meeting both in-person in the city centre, and online over Zoom! Please RSVP for email reminders and meeting details. If you'd like to attend, we aim to foster as welcoming and inclusive an environment as possible. If you have any accessibility requirements, please let us know and we will do our best to accomodate you.",
